Man City Legend Pablo Zabaleta and the Premier League Trophy go to Cityzens Giving Young Leaders in Mexico City to celebrate launch of expanded Xylem Water Heroes Academy

Mexico City, Mexico, September 22, 2022 – Manchester City’s international charity initiative, Cityzens Giving, and Official Water Technology Partner, Xylem, are delighted to announce the growth of Xylem Water Heroes Academy, a world initiative in ten cities using the facility of soccer to tackle native water challenges.
Since its launch in 2021, Xylem Water Heroes Academy has engaged over 75 younger leaders and delivered important water schooling to more than 6,000 young folks in 5 cities: São Paulo, Mumbai, Cape Town, New York City and Shanghai. The expanded community, which now also comprises youth-led projects in Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Cape Coast, Kuala Lumpur and Melbourne, goals to positively impression 20,000 more younger individuals over the following 4 years.

More than 20 million residents do not have enough water to drink for almost half the yearand one in five people have access to just a few hours of running water from their faucets every week.<br/>This venture will see Young Leaders from love.fútbol use specially adapted football video games to educate young folks in the community on responsible water consumption, in addition to the significance of protected water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH).<br/>Zabaleta took part in a youth-led soccer and water festival and engaged in a Q&A session with young members, earlier than studying a standard Mexican dance.<br/>Reflecting on his go to, Zabaleta mentioned: “Meeting the Young Leaders in Mexico City was a tremendous experience. We received training from Man City coaches and learnt a quantity of video games that teach kids about water conservation via soccer.
