Danish marine pump specialist Svanehøj has received an order from China’s Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding to provide gas pump techniques for 15 new build dual-fuel LNG container vessels (7000 TEU).

The 30 deepwell fuel pumps will be delivered between August 2022 and January 2024.
This is one of Svanehøj’s largest LNG fuel-related orders thus far. It can be the second LNG gas pump systems order that Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding has positioned with Svanehøj within the final 12 months. In July 2021, Svanehøj signed a contract to provide deepwell pumps for 10 dual-fuel LNG container vessels (15 000 TEU).
Svanehøj quadrupled sales of its patented deepwell gas pumps in 2021, and says there are tons of indications that sales might improve even further in 2022.
“Until a few years in the past, using LNG as a marine gas was restricted to LNG carriers and smaller ships. But we are now seeing a sharp improve in gasoline pump orders for deep sea vessels corresponding to container ships and automotive carriers,” stated Johnny Houmann, chief sales officer at Svanehøj. “We had been chosen because the provider of gasoline pump techniques for over 50% of the dual-fuel LNG container vessels ordered globally in 2020–21. And we purpose to extend our market share additional in the coming years.”
