Rotork has been working with BAE Systems to improve a sequence of A-range actuators to IQ3 actuators which function penstocks controlling motion of ships between the sea and transitional locks and dry docks at Her Majesty’s Naval Base Portsmouth (HMNB Portsmouth).
A collection of A-range actuators had reached the tip of their operational life after lengthy service in a challenging setting. BAE Systems needed to retain all the advantages of electric actuators, so IQ3 actuators had been chosen. These had to be specifically adapted by Rotork to overcome problems around confined areas and tough entry.
IQ3 actuators and IS gearboxes were mechanically tailored so that each actuator and gearbox could be operated by hand with out getting into the confined house. pressure gauge ไฮ ด รอ ลิ ค designed special hand auto levers and through drive mechanisms for the actuator and gearbox to eliminate the need for confined area entry.
Actuators inside the IQ vary are watertight, providing ingress protection to IP66/68 at 20 m for 10 days. They have a complicated dual stacked display with configurable information logger functionality, and an absolute place sensor offers reliability and accuracy.
