Police arrested a Swedish man who overstayed his visa in Chon Buri by over seven years. He was also accused of swindling cash from Thai individuals.
The Immigration Bureau Division three arrested the 50 yr previous Swedish man, Lennart Alexander, at a rental house in the Si Racha district of Chon Buri. He was initially charged with overstaying his visa by 2,610 days or about seven years. He arrived in Thailand by way of Suvarnabhumi Airport on January 7 in 2016.
The arrest was made following a complaint from a Thai girl who rented him a house. The girl reported that Alexander claimed to be a millionaire from Sweden and came to Thailand to start out a new enterprise. He even confirmed her his checking account to prove he had several million baht in financial savings.
However, the girl later realized that Alexander was not who he claimed to be. Moreover, he took advantage of her trust and the locals within the space for his profit.

Four foreigners have been arrested for overstaying this week. On Tuesday, an Indian man, 38 yr outdated Jatinder Singh, was arrested in Chon Buri for overstaying his visa by practically six years. Singh was also accused of working with a call centre rip-off gang.
On the same day, an Iraqi man, 52 yr outdated Khalid Majeed Ali, was arrested at a house in Chon Buri for overstaying his visa by over eight years. Officers reported that Ali was shocked when seeing the law enforcement officials and broke into tears whereas being held on the police station.
Today, two foreigners had been arrested for overstaying in Bangkok. The first individual was a British man, seventy six year outdated Joseph Taylor, who overstayed by over eleven years, and another was a sixty two yr old Singaporean man, Ng Wing Onn, who overstayed by practically four years..
