A lady wanted medical consideration after getting stung by a scorpion after the lethal creature made a nest in some Longkong fruit in southern Thailand.
A Thai man alerted fellow netizens after finding 4 of these deadly creatures hiding inside 2 kilogrammes of the fruit bought for his mom. The surprising incident led to an outpouring of comparable experiences from the web group, proving the encounter was not a one-off.
Tanadul Pengmeesri yesterday took to the Facebook group siamensis.org to share his eye-opening expertise.
Tanadul said…
“Warn pals to check Longkong fruit before consuming. You may find scorpions. Mum purchased 2 kilogrammes and found four of them. They have been hidden in the clusters. She was stung and we needed to immerse the fruit in water to lure them out.”
After the stinging encounter, his mother, who’s now properly, received therapy to reduce swelling.
This real-life cautionary tale rapidly gained traction on the platform, attracting close to a thousand likes. Many took to the feedback section not only to voice their ideas but also to share their hair-raising encounters with bugs amongst their farm produce.
A person from southern Thailand commented…
“We call them Tuay Mun. They’re potent scorpions. They love climbing and resting at excessive points. Towels and horse cloths hanging on partitions are their favorite spots.”
Other netizens shared…
“I have heard about these tales but by no means bothered to soak the fruit in water. I truly have been fortunate thus far. But I might be cautious subsequent time.”
“I have discovered ants, tiny beetles and small white scorpions. Be cautious.”
“I simply had such an encounter this morning. A few days in the past I brought stuff from the market in my automotive boot. Today once I started working I found scorpions like this behind the automotive. Couldn’t work out how it received there. Now I know.”
One consumer described a chaotic scene after a queen insect suddenly dashed out from the cluster, causing the child insects to observe, making a frenzy.
Another shared his surprise at finding a red creature just like a centipede, apparently from Longkong, regardless of never having seen one before in northern Thailand, reported Sanook.
One user reported discovering a giant worm in the clusters. The person said…
“It was massive and seemed like this. When I touched it, it reared up to take a look at me. Be the first was shocked to death.”
Some customers shared the discomfort brought on by sudden mishaps.
“Once I stepped barefoot on one, the sting heated up immediately. I virtually handed out.”
While another revealed his tortuous ordeal after a run-in with a small hornet that came with the Longkong, which triggered severe pain for 3 days.
“In one cluster, when you soak it in water, you will find quite a lot of insects.”
