5 males who have been posing as law enforcement officials in southern Thailand’s Pattani province were arrested yesterday. The suspects allegedly extorted drug-taking residents or teenagers out of cash or property.
The Yaring police have been alerted that males had been portraying themselves as members of the Yaring police at a village in the Laem Pho Subdistrict. Template says the boys dressed as law enforcement officials and had “armours” with police on the chest. The males allegedly chose local youngsters or people who took narcotics as their extortion victims. The fake police would ask residents if they may inspect their belongings and typically extort them for either money or property. Police have since arrested the 5 males.
Last month, a Bangkok man was arrested after he allegedly posed as a police officer and raped sex workers over 40 times for a period of 6 months..
